This is for the "faith" assignment I have to do for a "audition" for the school I want to get into next year. The whole assignment just says "faith" and you can interpret that in any way you'd like... The only requrement is that theres a person in the frame.
I've decided to make a series of three pictures with the headline "A question of faith".. This is going to be the first of the three. The optimal would be a father and a little son, but I cant get hold of that here (especially hard when you want to undress them)... So this came out as the second choice..
I'd really like some real critique on these pictures as they are really important for me and my future carreer as a photographer
really nice, i like it
the only thing i'd say is try and make the ? a little more visible on the woman, its hidden in the dark a little awesome stuff though!
hmm well the idea behind it is really good, however I did not get that they were looking at a book (presumably the bible?) until i reread the title about faith. If you want it to be more bam faith i woul =d move the book so it is not cut off the the shoulder.
The crop is nice, nothing is cut off or decapitated. The exposure could be a little lighter in the shadows in the back and his hair because you are loosing some detail and teacher are picky about exposure. Teachers are also picky about series of photos they think it is better if you can make your point all in one dramatic photo. I love the idea of a series however they might not. Also the girls hair seems a little blurry, it could be sharpened in photoshop with an unsharp mask.
Overall i really like the photo. hope you get into the school. which one is it if you dont mind me asking?

And you're right, for this picture he is holding the bible, but I tried not to make it too obvious as the assignment is called "faith" and for me that doesnt nessercerarly mean christianity. So thats kinda why the book is a bit blurred but illuminated.. And if you look into my gallery theres some "scrap" shots of this shot (only with one girl) and when she's holding the book higher it kinda looks unnatural and staged. So I guess thats why I did the book like that, I guess thats just my oppinion about it.
And the reason I did a series was that no matter what I'd have to submidt three pictures with the theme "faith" so I thought it would look better if I had all of the shots in a series with some connection to eachother :]
Thanks so mutch for the comment once again, I really appreciate you taking the time to look into it
And the school is "Fotofagskolen" wich is a pretty decent photography school here in Norway

Siden tittelen er det den er så regner jeg med at gutten er en troende som leser i bibelen eller en annen relegiøs bok, men hun jenta er en skeptiker? hehe
